2010 FALL CLASSES! Because we appreciate your requests and feedback, we have added a few short and one-day classes to our new fall schedule. Thank you!
CLASS SPACE is limited and requires a minimum number of students, so advance registration and payment are required. Class policies, store policies, class descriptions and costs, class supply lists are all available at the shop or online at HenHouseQuiltsGifts.com. Class supplies and materials are purchased separately and are not part of the class fee unless stated otherwise. Class prices are per student unless stated otherwise. Purchase class supplies from Hen House Quilts and get a 10% discount on your purchase. Classes begin promptly, materials and supplies are purchased before class begins unless stated otherwise.
NOTE: While the classroom cutting table is easier to use because of its height, the shop may require its use during regular business hours to cut fabric for customers when business volume demands. We are looking into adding an additional cutting area, but Linda needs to stop buying fabric before that can be accomplished!
BRING TO CLASS—Students are to bring to class a sewing machine in good working order and your own supplies, such as rotary cutter, mat, rulers, etc. Please label all your personal supplies.
LUNCH PAIL CLASSES—Some classes overlap into lunch time. Pack your own or try one of our local restaurants. We have several fast food eateries and all of our restaurants offer carry-out.
SKILL LEVELS—Noted skill levels for each class are important! Based on a specific level, instructors assume the student understands the terminology and has mastered the minimum level of sewing and quilting techniques for that particular class. The Begin to Quilt and/or the Begin to Sew classes are strongly recommended if you have not taken a sewing or quilting class before, even if you are self-taught.
j Novice: little experience or knowledge with terminology and techniques in sewing and/or quilting activities
k Intermediate: knowledgeable with basic terminology and techniques in sewing and/or quilting
l Experienced: well-versed with more complex and advanced sewing and piecing techniques
m Challenging: experienced sewer using an array of methods, materials, theory, design, and precision
